York entrepreneur launches furnishing website - 27/07/08
York-based entrepreneur James Hodgetts has launched a website that will help consumers find the furniture they are looking for quicker.
Officefurniturechannel.co.uk features thousands of items from the £700 million office furniture market, including desks, bookcases and chairs from major manufacturers, reports the Business Desk.
The idea is to allow consumers to find their desired product within three clicks and deliver the item within as many days, where such speed is permitted.
Mr Hodgetts told the news provider: "We've done a lot of research into the online office furniture market and quickly realised that navigation was a key issue."
He explained that many sites offering a similar service are "too complicated", which has left a gap in the market to provide a facility for small businesses looking to kit out their office space quickly and cheaply.
In related news, Berneslai Homes has announced this month that it has signed up to occupy 16,100-square feet of space at the £70 million Gateway Plaza development in Barnsley.
