Yorkshire experts assist major merger - 24/06/08

A collection of Yorkshire legal and banking experts have worked to assist the merger of Taylor Shaw and Caterplus Services, which has just come to its fruition.

Regional news provider the Business Desk has reported that professionals from Pinsent Masons, BTG McInnes Corporate Finance and Cobbets advised on the merger, which was financed by the Leeds office of Yorkshire Bank.

Andy Miller of BTG McInnes Corporate Finance told the website: "The fact that so many Leeds professionals worked together on a national deal for three businesses all based outside the region is testament to the city's standing in deal making."

He added that Caterplus in an ever expanding firm and noted that its progression should only bring more work for businesses that have already dealt with the firm in Leeds.

In related news, Trade Yorkshire reports this week that Sheffield's RE:Inventing the City – the International Business and Economy Summit 2008 has outlined a number of priorities for the city.

The event, which was organised by Creative Sheffield, Sheffield city council and Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, was attended by delegates from as far flung as Melbourne and Philadelphia.
