The managing director of manufacturing and recruitment firm EMS Sigma has revealed that his firm were eager sponsors of Yorkshire Productivity Awards.
Speaking to the onrec.com website, Roy Davies said that Sigma was "keen" to sponsor the newcomer award partly due to "the fact that the manufacturing sector represents our core area of activity" and that the firm itself is a "relative newcomer to the region".
The awards took place on April 22nd at the Leeds Met Hotel and the winners of the newcomer awards include ASD Lighting, which is based in Rotherham, and HBOS Halifax took the best newcomer award in the large company category.
Commenting when the event took place, Alistair Gladstone, general manager of Yorkshire Productivity, highlighted the role of training within the manufacturing sector.
