Siemens awards Barnsley telecoms firm - 16/04/08
Computer giant Siemens has awarded a Barnsley telecommunications firm with a prestigious title this week.
Active Voice and Data developed an integrated telecoms system for The Prince's Trust, which Siemens has named the 'Enterprise Solution of 2007'.
The system allows the trust to communicate effectively with its large base of home workers and also made the organisation savings by centralising services at the same time.
Managing director of Active Voice and Data, Iain Simpson, said: "It's flexible so can be tailored to the needs of, say, local healthcare trusts or councils.
"I can see plenty of ways for the business to grow and what's great is that now we're in a position where the business is that solid, we can really focus on moving forward in a big way."
He added that the firm will continue to work with Business Link South Yorkshire, whose help he described as having been "invaluable".
Business Link South Yorkshire is a government funded body, which provides independent and impartial advice to public and private sector firms, free of charge.
