Top Yorkshire hotel ups its service levels - 16/04/08

A top Yorkshire hotel has announced plans to hire a "world-class" chef, in order to attract high-class clientele.

Former managing director of luxury chain Rocco Forte Hotels, David Pantin, unveiled the plans for his five star facility, that will be built under the new Pantin Hotels brand, reports the Business Desk.

Mr Pantin told the news website: "The heart of the hotel is the...dining experience. I've always thought that and high-quality food and beverage is central to that.

"The thing about Leeds that has fascinated me is that it's the second largest financial centre in the country."

He added that due to this he wants the hotel, called The Ellington, to serve as a "meeting place and community hotel" for businessmen visiting the city.

Leeds is the economic capital of Yorkshire, with some 46,000 businesses in the city employing around 417,000 people.

According to Yorkshire Forward, over the last decade around £2.5 billion has been invested in commercial, retail and residential property development in Leeds.
