Yorkshire buy-out market is booming - 22/09/2008

Despite the global impact of the credit crunch, the Yorkshire deals market is booming, as figures show that buy-outs this year are outperforming last year.
In the first six months of 2008 £1bn of deals were completed, compared with £800m for same period in 2007.
The figures, published by the Centre for Management Buy-Out Research, show that despite the global economic slowdown, the Yorkshire & Humber economy remains buoyant.
There were 36 management buy-outs or buy-ins in the first half of 2008, with three deals worth more than £100m and 33 at less than £25m.
The first three months of the year saw the most activity, with transactions in this period alone totaling £767m.
