Shell awards multi-million Pound contract to Yorkshire firm Cape - 24/08/2008

Oil giant Shell has awarded a £4.2m contract to Cape, a Yorkshire-based company which provides support services to the energy and natural resources sectors.
The contract has been won by Cape’s Singapore-based wholly-owned subsidiary Cape East Pte, and is for the total provision and application of thermal insulation for Shell Eastern Petroleum’s mono ethylene glycol (MEG) project on Jurong Island, Singapore. It was awarded on behalf of Shell by Foster Wheeler, which is managing the engineering, procurement and construction of the project.
Cape’s CEO, Martin May commented: “This contract puts our Singapore business unit on track for another record year and further cements our relationship with these two blue chip clients. Our local management team continue to build a world class business increasingly recognised for its safety performance, on time delivery and bundling capabilities across the region.”
Cape is an international market leader in the provision of support services to the energy and natural resources sectors. The company has 40 offices around the world, including Wakefield, Yorkshire.
The contract award is the third in a series of high profile projects won by Cape over recent months and demonstrates the growing recognition of the Group’s broader capabilities within the Far East and Pacific Rim.
